PVs for C-ute’s New Single Released!!

The music videos for C-ute’s upcoming double a-side single have been released.

I’ll start with Ai tte Motto Zanshin.

Now, I’m going to start by saying the awesomeness of this does not surprise me, given C-ute’s year so far!

The song itself is interesting. It’s powerful, sexy and cool up until the chores where it turns into a more upbeat and happy song, melody and instrumental wise, which surprised me. I like it thought. The line distribution is good and everyone’s vocals sound lovely as always! LOVING Chisa’s lines!

The outfits are so badass it’s not even funny. Army themed, and everything… Just fantastic.

And now the music video. It starts off with Yajima dancing in what appears to be an abandoned building which confused me a bit at first. The music video is comprised of the group dance shot, solo dance shots of the members dancing in different locations, group shot of the girls standing/sitting and singing, close up shots and then super-close close up shots, all interchanging throughout the video. There’s a few interesting visual effects where it’s a quick flash, made to look like an old movie film and or the lighting changes to sepia tones, which is a nice visual effect. I think the best part of the music video is the instrumental break dance, because you can see how much better they’ve gotten at unity when dancing, and it’s just nice to watch.

Overall, everything about this music video is fantastic! The dance is querky at times, and the change in song pace doesn’t always match the music video very well, but I give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars!!

Now on to Tokai no Hitorigurashi.

The song is upbeat and happy, different from C-ute’s sexy and cool style this year. It’s refreshing and a nice change of pace, I like it!

The outfits are super cute and stylish, but also separate each member while keeping them unified with similar colour schemes. As much as I love cool themed outfits, I also enjoy casual ones like these too.

The music video is different than the simple H!P formula we’ve seen throughout the year, although as it’s been done very well recently, I haven’t had a problem with it. But, this music video is a nice change of pace from the usual. It starts out with Airi fixing a crooked picture frame, which then becomes a theme throughout the video, and that picture frame then has some pretty effects within it before the video officially starts. It introduces each member, before starting off with Airi’s first line, the camera following her as she walks and sings. It then swings to Mai and Nacky who are seated at a table, and then Maimi as she comes up the stairs, etc. the camera mostly moves around from the area the girls are in. It’s hard to explain, but it’s an interesting concept. It flows into the dance nicely, and some visual effects are thrown in every now and again to change from one thing to the next. The effects-in-a-picture-frame thing are a common thing in the music video. The girls then are singing to the camera and the screen itself is a frame in the second half of the music video, and then similar to Perfume’s Magic of Love MV, the girls pull away frames of each other. The instrumental break shows the girls dancing, and then them individually wearing sunglasses with a cool effect in their lenses in the member colour, which is random. But, the again… Why not?

It’s… All complicated and hard to word properly, but let me put it this way: this is one of the best music videos creativity-wise this year hands down!!

Overall the song is cute, the dance is nice, the outfits rock and the music video is beautiful! I give this 5 stars out of 5!

The single is set for release November 6th!
