Shugo Chara! Egg’s Profile

Shugo Chara Egg was a Hello! Project group, who was announced on September 20th, 2008 and debuted with a live perfomance. The group originally consisted of four Hello! Pro Egg members: Ayaka Wada, Yuuka Maeda, Kanon Fukuda and Akari Saho.

The group was formed to sing the opening songs for the second season for the anime, Shugo Chara!, titled, Shugo Chara!! Doki along with fellow H!P group Guardians 4 who were also formed for the same purpose. Each of the group’s members wore costumes based on the character transformations of the main character, Hinamori Amu.

On October 12th, 2008 , Shugo Chara Egg’s debut single was “Minna no Tamago” (Everyone’s Egg) and was used as the first opening theme song for Shugo Chara!! Doki.

In the spring of 2009, the members were in the musical adaptation of the anime. Maeda had the leading role as Hinamori Amu, and Fukuda had the role of Fujisaki Nadeshiko. Wada and Akari played the roles as unnamed students of Seiyo Academy and x-characters.

In August 2009, three members, Maeda, Fukuda, and Wada left the group to focus on their new group, S/mileage. Auditions were held to replace them, and Fukumura Mizuki and Maeda Irori passed the auditions and became the new Amulet Heart and Amulet Clover. Through auditions in Shugo Chara! Party, the anime’s third season, Tanabe Nanami was chosen as the new Amulet Diamond in January 2010.  The girls were the hostesses for the live action segments of Shugo Chara! Party. Following the end of the anime series, the group disbanded, and shortly after that slowly started to split apart. In early 2011 or sometime late 2010, second generation Amulet Clover left Hello! Project Egg, and H!P entirely, the join another idol group, AKBN0.  In January 2011, second generation Amulet Heart, Fukumura Mizuki was added to Morning Musume as one of the 9th generation members. Also in the same year, Akari Saho, the last of the first generation, finished her H!P Egg training and was added to Upfont Girls and UFZS. Tanabe Nanami is the only former member and is still in H!P Eggs
